Ronnie started his career in Belfast in the electrical installation and manufacturing, environmental controls and energy management sectors.

Under his ownership for 17 years, Alpha Controls Ltd became the largest company in these sectors in Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland and had entered the market in Great Britian.

After a successful sale of the company in 1988, Ronnies established Foreman Consultants. Over the next 21years, the focus has been Business Development Consultancy with most of his clients being large US or European multi-nationals establishing in Ireland and Northern Ireland. He is widely travelled in Europe and USA and renowned for successful delivery of some complicated and substantial projects.

Ronnie has always maintained an interest in the SME sector and has helped many companies in UK and Ireland to develop their business. In recent years, he has worked with a number of small and medium local companies assisting with business development and with entering new markets. He has handled a number of buy-outs of companies as well as a number of successful acquisitions and mergers for business owners.

Ronnie has served on numerous private, voluntary and public sector boards either as Director or as Chairman. He recently retired from Encounter after twenty years service as a Director and from the James Joyce Cultural Centre in Dublin where he served as a Director for ten years.

He is currently Commissioner with Belfast Harbour Commissioon and ongoing business development adviser to a number of substantial companies in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
