David McCavery founded Serious PR with a vision to provide a niche and specialist all-island corporate PR service. His first job was as a reporter with a top South Down newspaper, The Mourne Observer. David has spent 25 years in the communications’ industry and moved into PR from a position as editor of another Down-based regional newspaper in 1990. Many of his journalistic peers now occupy key roles across the Irish business and news media.
David has worked throughout Ireland and the UK as a PR consultant to a range of private and public sector organisations. He specialises in B2B and Corporate PR and has handled PR for a range of corporates including Ulster Bank; Seagate (which he launched in Derry and Clonmel); Vauxhall, Vodafone and Stena Line (for whom he launched the launch of the HSS in Dublin and Belfast).
Some of David’s most memorable PR assignments have included announcing a major company restructuring for a manufacturing plant in the North of England; advising one of the UK and Ireland’s largest police forces on its internal and external communications mechanisms and structures; launching the world’s largest fast ferry to Ireland; leading familiarisation trips for journalists to a range of tourism destinations including Portugal and North America and co-ordinating the media team in the Territorial Army’s Executive Stretch activity weekends! David currently delivers hands-on advice to a number of clients with strong links on both sides of the border including: Arthur Cox (lawyers); Chambers Coach Hire; The Patton Construction Group (all-island) and Acheson Glover (major concrete products manufacturer and distributor). |

| Diane Day, PR Consultant: |

Diane is responsible for looking after the PR needs of a wide range of clients, including TODD Architects; Templeton Robinson; Tim Lewis Recruitment and Yellow Door.
In addition to writing for carefully selected target audiences, she also instigates and devises major marketing campaigns.
A BSc graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast, Diane worked as a journalist with the
Belfast Telegraph for 10 years, before pursuing a successful freelance career writing for a variety of magazines and weekly newspapers. |

| Róisín Duffy, PR Consultant: |

Róisín specialises in Corporate and Technology PR and has previously consulted to multinational and indigenous companies including public sector bodies in Belfast, Dundalk, Dublin, London, New York, Perth and Sydney.
Recognised for her success by media and clients alike, Róisín brings a wealth of all-island and global experience locally to help organisations to enhance their corporate reputations and communicate effectively with their stakeholders. At Serious PR, Róisín provides strategic communications counsel for Acheson and Glover, Dundalk Retail and Leisure Park, Mesh Technology and WJ Law. She also supports new business.
Róisín began her career at RTE News. In previous roles she carried out PR for Capgemini, CA, Citrix, Dublin City Council, Damovo, Department of Mental Health Western Australia, eBay.ie, Enterprise Ireland, Queen’s University Belfast, HP Ireland, IBM, Irish Software Association, Louth County Council, Microsoft Xbox and Pfizer. |

| Stephanie Bell, Editorial Associate: |
Stephanie has been a journalist for 24 years, 17 of which were spent with Sunday Life as a news reporter, Chief News Correspondent, Features Editor and Magazine Editor. She has been combining freelance journalism work with her role in Serious PR for the past three years and has written for The Sun, The News of the World, the Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Life and a number of national glossy interiors magazines.
Stephanie supports the Serious team of PR consultants on a number of key accounts including The Patton Group; Western Building Systems; Knox and Clayton and Travel Solutions. |

Gail has extensive experience of regional journalism, having worked in several of the province’s top weekly newspapers.
As well as supporting Serious clients as they seek to generate publicity in key media Gail retains her journalistic links by working part-time with The Portadown Times as Senior Journalist, specialising in feature-writing. |

Alison’s role as PR Executive is to assist Serious PR Consultants in their interaction with clients, media and other relevant client stakeholders.
She holds a BA Degree in Psychology and Marketing and previously worked in education as an ICT technician before moving into community youth work for the YMCA. |

| Victoria Johnston, Executive Support: |
Victoria’s role comprises office administration, communication with clients, research and devising in-house literature. She is also responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the company’s Moira office and other business concerns.
Victoria is a recent graduate of Ulster University, she holds a BSc Hons Degree in Public Relations and a Diploma in Art and Design foundation studies. |
