For the first time ever FRESH babyfood is on sale in Northern Ireland. Heavenly Tasty Organics, a specialist in baby weaning foods, is launching a range of fresh baby food into 19 Tesco stores across Northern Ireland this week.

The chilled range, which is exclusive to Tesco NI, includes natural fruit purees in apple and pear for weaning babies from 4-6 months onwards. It also features meals suitable from seven months and from nine months, including tomato and pasta, lentil and vegetable soup, minced beef and potato, and spaghetti bolognese.

The entire range is dairy free and gluten free – with the emphasis on the freshness of the meals. Heavenly Tasty Organics Managing Director Shauna McCarney-Blair said: “We don’t believe that baby food needs to be highly processed to give it a long shelf life. After all, why should your baby food be older than your baby?”

She added: “We believe that all babies should have access to the best food possible and this means fresh, natural ingredients. And we believe this new range has clear, unique benefits. The products are all fresh and organic as well as dairy and gluten free.”

Tesco buying manager Sandra Weir said: “Tesco is delighted to be stocking this excellent range of food for babies from Heavenly Tasty Organics. It’s the first time that fresh baby food has been on sale in Northern Ireland. This once again highlights our ongoing commitment to support local food and drink suppliers.”

Tyrone-based Heavenly Tasty Organics is an award-winning pioneer of organic baby foods developed by Shauna McCarney-Blair. The company is run by Shauna and her husband James Blair. Both Shauna and the company have scooped numerous awards since starting up, including gold, silver and bronze in the baby food category in the Irish Food Awards 2013.

The Heavenly Tasty Organics MD added: “We are delighted to have our award-winning products made available to consumers in Tesco NI stores across Northern Ireland. We have worked closely with the local sourcing team in Tesco NI and have received a lot of support from them”.

Operations Manager James Blair said: “Our focus in Northern Ireland will be on the supply and marketing of chilled meals, from weaning purees through to toddler dishes. We put a strong emphasis on the quality of our products, sourcing the finest ingredients, and cooking them slowly as parents would do at home.”
