Leading Belfast law firm Cleaver Fulton Rankin has marked another success for its mediation team, with two of the firm’s associate solicitors recently qualifying as dispute resolution specialists. Fergal Maguire and Aaron Moore, who both specialise in commercial and banking disputes, join the 20 strong team which assists clients in all areas of law in resolving disputes.
According to Legal 500, a prestigious legal directory, which interviews lawyers and clients across the world, Cleaver Fulton Rankin is ‘deservedly at the top of the tree when it comes to dispute resolution; it houses industry experts who give 100%, every time’.
On a national level, the firm was also awarded ‘The Members’ Choice’ award at the Professional Mediators’ Association awards ceremony in London at the end of September in recognition of its efforts to promote raise awareness of the advantages of mediation, with solicitor Julie Ann McCaffrey also being singled for her “tireless work to promote mediation in Northern Ireland, in particular but not exclusively to the legal sector.”
Julie-Ann is no stranger to awards for her mediation skills having been internationally successful at the INADR Awards whilst a student Mediator, with a CEDR Young Professional of the Year Award following in 2012.
Julie-Ann and Director Lisa Boyd have also developed and rolled out a mediation initiative in the office, inviting clients to workshops to see the mediation process in action. Lisa said, “Our initiative aims to educate clients and promote mediation so that when faced with a mediation in the future, clients can concentrate on settling the dispute rather than worrying about the procedural aspects of the day.”
